MY BIGWIG

STEVE JOBS

"Sometimes life is going to hit you in the head with a brick. Don't lose faith."
-steve jobs

Kon'nichiwa ! This time, i'll write about my inspirational person, Steve Jobs. I bet you already know him. Am I right? He is inspire many people in this world with his invention. What he already done is huge and it really reminds me that no matter what people think about you, you will always can be what your Creator wants you to be to. So, i'll give you some informations and biography about him. I hope that you guys will be inspired by him too 😊👍

youth :

Steven Paul Jobs was born on February 24, 1955 in San Francisco, California. His unwed biological parents, Joanne Schieble and Abdulfattah Jandali, put him up for adoption. Steve was adopted by Paul and Clara Jobs, a lower-middle-class couple, who moved to the suburban city of Mountain View a couple of years later.

Paul Jobs and his son

The Santa Clara county, south of the Bay Area, became known as Silicon Valley in the early 1950s after the sprouting of a myriad of semi-conductor companies. As a result, young Steve Jobs grew up in a neighborhood of engineers working on electronics and other gizmos in their garages on weekends. This shaped his interest in the field as he grew up. At age 13, he met one the most important persons in his life: 18-year-old Stephen Wozniak, an electronics wiz kid, and, like Steve, an incorrigible prankster.

Five years later, when Steve Jobs reached college age, he told his parents he wanted to enroll in Reed College — an expensive liberal arts college up in Oregon. Even though the tuition fees were astronomical for the poor couple, they had promised their son's biological parents he would get a college education, so they relented. Steve spent only one semester at Reed, then dropped out, as he was more interested in eastern philosophy, fruitarian diets, and LSD than in the classes he took. He moved to a hippie commune in Oregon where his main activity was cultivating apples.

Steve Jobs and Wozniak

A few months later, Steve returned to California to look for a job. He was hired at the young video game maker Atari, and used his wages to make a trip to India with one of his college friends, in order to 'seek enlightenment'. He came back a little disillusioned and started to take interest in his friend Woz's new activities.

Apple and the personal computer era :

Steve Jobs had realized there was a huge gap in the computer market. At that time almost all computers were mainframes. They were so large that one could fill a room, and so costly that individuals could not afford to buy them. Advances in electronics, however, meant that computer components were getting smaller and the power of the computer was increasing.
Apple II

Jobs and Wozniak redesigned their computer, with the idea of selling it to individual users. Th
e Apple II went to market in 1977, with impressive first year sales of $2.7 million. The company's sales grew to $200 million within three years. This was one of the most phenomenal cases of corporate growth in U.S. history. Jobs and Wozniak had opened an entirely new market—personal computers. Personal computers began an entirely new way of processing information.
By 1980 the personal computer era was well underway. Apple was continually forced to improve its products to remain ahead, as more competitors entered the marketplace. Apple introduced the Apple III, but the new model suffered technical and marketing problems. It was withdrawn from the market, and was later reworked and reintroduced.

Jobs continued to be the marketing force behind Apple. Early in 1983 he unveiled the Lisa. It was designed for people possessing minimal computer experience. It did not sell well, however, because it was more expensive than personal computers sold by competitors. Apple's biggest competitor was International Business Machines (IBM). By 1983 it was estimated that Apple had lost half of its market share (part of an industry's sales that a specific company has) to IBM.
Lisa Computer

The Macintosh :

In 1984 Apple introduced a revolutionary new model, the
Macintosh. The on-screen display had small pictures called icons. To use the computer, the user pointed at an icon and clicked a button using a new device called a mouse. This process made the Macintosh very easy to use. The Macintosh did not sell well to businesses, however. It lacked features other personal computers had, such as a corresponding high quality printer. The failure of the Macintosh signaled the beginning of Jobs's downfall at Apple. Jobs resigned in 1985 from the company he had helped found, though he retained his title as chairman of its board of directors.

NeXT :

NeXT Company

Steve Jobs soon hired some of his former employees to begin a new computer company called NeXT. Late in 1988 the NeXT computer was introduced at a large gala event in San Francisco, aimed at the educational market. Initial reactions were generally good. The product was very user-friendly, and had a fast processing speed, excellent graphics displays, and an outstanding sound system. Despite the warm reception, however, the NeXT machine never caught on. It was too costly, had a black-and-white screen, and could not be linked to other computers or run common software.

Pixar :

NeXT was not, however, the end of Steve Jobs. In 1986 Jobs purchased a small company called Pixar from filmmaker George Lucas (1944–). Pixar specialized in computer animation. Nine years later Pixar released Toy Story, a huge box office hit. Pixar later went on to make Toy Story 2 and A Bug's Life, which Disney distributed, and Monsters, Inc. All these films have been extremely successful. Monsters, Inc. had the largest opening weekend ticket sales of any animated film in history.

NeXT and Apple :

Steve Jobs return to Apple

The following year, in a surprising event, Apple entered into a partnership with its competitor Microsoft. The two companies, according to the New York Times, "agreed to cooperate on several sales and technology fronts." Over the next six years Apple introduced several new products and marketing strategies.

In November 1997 Jobs announced Apple would sell computers directly to users over the Internet and by telephone. The Apple Store became a runaway success. Within a week it was the third-largest e-commerce site on the Internet. In September of 1997 Jobs was named interim CEO of Apple.
In 1998 Jobs announced the release of the iMac, which featured powerful computing at an affordable price. The iBook was unveiled in July 1999. This is a clam-shaped laptop that is available in bright colors. It includes Apple's AirPort, a computer version of the cordless phone that would allow the user to surf the Internet wirelessly. In January 2000 Jobs unveiled Apple's new Internet strategy. It included a group of Macintosh-only Internet-based applications. Jobs also announced that he was becoming the permanent CEO of Apple.
In a February 1996 Time magazine article, Jobs said, "The thing that drives me and my colleagues … is that you see something very compelling to you, and you don't quite know how to get it, but you know, sometimes intuitively, it's within your grasp. And it's worth putting in years of your life to make it come into existence." Jobs has worked hard to translate his ideas into exciting and innovative products for businesses and consumers. He was instrumental in launching the age of the personal computer. Steve Jobs is truly a computer industry visionary.

Movie :

Steve Jobs' biography can also watched by his movie, Steve Jobs. It's really great and you should watch it. The first plot actually a little bit difficult to understand (for me) but the others are just fine. Steve Jobs is played by Michael Fassbender. ( he also play in X Men 😂)
Michael Fassbender

I think it's enough for todayy.. It's my pleasure to sharing about my inspirational person for you guys and I hope you can get some very valuable lessons from this too. So, see you soon? ❤

STORY TIME!

LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD

Once upon a time there lived on the borders of a great forest a woodman and his wife who had one little daughter, a sweet, kind child, whom every one loved. She was the joy of her mother’s heart, and to please her, the good woman made her a little scarlet cloak and hood, and the child looked so pretty in it that everybody called her Little Red Riding-Hood.

One day her mother told her she meant to send her to her grandmother—a very old woman who lived in the heart of the wood—to take her some fresh butter and new-laid eggs and a nice cake. Little Red Riding-Hood was very pleased to be sent on this errand, for she liked to do kind things, and it was so very long since she had seen her grandmother that she had almost forgotten what the dame looked like.

The sun was shining brightly, but it was not too warm under the shade of the old trees, and Red Riding-Hood sang with glee as she gathered a great bunch of wild flowers to give to her grandmother. She sang so sweetly that a cushat dove flew down from a tree and followed her.

Now, it happened that a wolf, a very cruel, greedy creature, heard her song also, and longed to eat her for his breakfast, but he knew Hugh, the woodman, was at work very near, with his great dog, and he feared they might hear Red Riding-Hood cry out, if he frightened her, and then they would kill him. So he came up to her very gently and said:

“Good day, Little Red Riding-Hood; where are you going?”
“To see my grandmother,” said the child, “and take her a present from mother of eggs and butter and cake.”
“Where does your grandmamma live?” asked the wolf.
“Quite in the middle of the wood,” she replied.
“Oh! I think I know the house. Good day, Red Riding-Hood.” And the wolf ran off as fast as he could

Little Red Riding-Hood was not in a hurry, and there were many things to amuse her in the wood. She ran after the white and yellow butterflies that danced before her, and sometimes she caught one, but she always let it go again, for she never liked to hurt any creature.

And then there were the merry, cunning little squirrels to watch, cracking nuts on the branches of the old trees, and every now and then a rabbit would hurry away through the tall ferns, or a great bee come buzzing near her, and she would stop to watch it gathering honey from the flowers, and wild thyme. So she went on very slowly.

By-and-by she saw Hugh, the woodman.
“Where are you going, Little Red Riding-Hood,” said he, “all alone?”
“I am going to my grandmamma’s,” said the child. “Good day; I must make haste now, for it grows late.”

While Little Red Riding-Hood was at play in the wood, the great wolf galloped on as fast as he could to the old woman’s house. Grandmother lived all by herself, but once or twice a-day a neighbour’s child came to tidy her house and get her food.

Now, grandmother was very feeble, and often kept her bed; and it happened that she was in bed the day Little Red Riding-Hood went to see her. When the wolf reached the cottage door he tapped.

“Who is there?” asked the old dame.

“Little Red Riding-Hood, granny,” said the wolf, trying to speak like the child.
“Come in, my dear,” said the old lady, who was a little deaf. “Pull the string and the latch will come up.”

The wolf did as she told him, went in, and you may think how frightened poor grandmother was when she saw him standing by her bed instead of Little Red Riding-Hood.

Very soon the wolf, who was quite hungry after his run, ate up poor grandmother.

Indeed, she was not enough for his breakfast, and so he thought he would like to eat sweet Red Riding-Hood also. Therefore he dressed himself in granny’s nightcap and got into bed, and waited for the child to knock at the door. But he waited a long time.

By and by Little Red Riding-Hood reached her grandmother’s house, and tapped at the door.

“Come in,” said the wolf, in a squeaking voice. “Pull the string, and the latch will come up.”

Red Riding-Hood thought grandmother must have a cold, she spoke so hoarsely; but she went in at once, and there lay her granny, as she thought, in bed.

“If you please, grandmamma, mother sends you some butter and eggs,” she said.
“Come here, dear,” said the wicked wolf, “and let me kiss you,” and Red Riding-Hood obeyed.

But when Red Riding-Hood saw the wolf she felt frightened. She had nearly forgotten grandmother, but she did not think she had been so ugly.

“Grandmamma,” she said, “what a great nose you have.”
“All the better to smell with, my dear,” said the wolf.
“And, grandmamma, what large ears you have.”
“All the better to hear with, my dear.”
“Ah! grandmamma, and what large eyes you have.”
“All the better to see with, my dear,” said the wolf, showing his teeth, for he longed to eat the child up.
“Oh, grandmamma, and what great teeth you have!” said Red Riding-Hood.

“All the better to eat you up with,” growled the wolf, and, jumping out of bed, he rushed at Red Riding-Hood and would have eaten her up, but just at that minute the door flew open and a great dog tore him down. The wolf and the dog were still fighting when Hugh, the woodman, came in and killed the wicked wolf with his axe.

Little Red Riding-Hood threw her arms round the woodman Hugh’s neck and kissed him, and thanked him again and again.

“Oh, you good, kind Hugh,” she said, “how did you know the wolf was here, in time to save me?”

“Well,” said Hugh, “when you were gone by, I remembered that a wolf had been seen about the wood lately, and I thought I would just come after you and see if you were safe. When we came near grandmother’s house my dog Trim sniffed and ran to the door and whined, and then he pushed it open—you had not shut it close—and rushed in, and I followed him, and between us we have killed the wolf.”

Then Hugh took the child home, and her mother and father could not thank him enough for saving Little Red Riding-Hood.

ITALY!

Since i was a kid, i always love everything about Italy. It is a country with a thoundsand history and cultures. Besides of that, i really like foods that consists of cheeses and Italy is a heaven for that.

The capital city of Italy is Rome and destinations for holiday in Rome are so many and I think it will be uncountable. I hope when i become adult and have my own money, i can visit all of places in Rome and enjoy every moment there. Right now, i will give you some informations about several places in Rome, Italy. Happy Reading !

1.    Colosseum

The Colosseum, originally known as the Flavian Amphitheatre, is a large amphitheatre in the city of Rome. The construction of the Colosseum started around 70–72 AD and was finished in 80 AD. It was 156 metres wide, 189 metres long and 57 metres tall. It is the biggest amphitheatre built by the Roman Empire. It was used for gladiatorial contests, and other shows like animal hunts, in which animals would hunt and eat prisoners; or in which gladiators would fight against animals. There were also executions of prisoners, plays, and battle scenes; sometimes it was filled with water to fight sea battles. The people of Rome could go into the Colosseum without any costs; it was free.

In the Middle Ages, it was no longer used for performances. It was then used as housing, workshops, a Christian shrine, and as a supply of building stones.

It is now a ruin because of earthquakes. The Colosseum is a symbol of the Roman Empire. It is one of Rome's most popular tourist attractions. On Good Fridays, the Pope leads a torch lit "Way of the Cross" procession around the various levels of the amphitheatre.

2.    Pantheon

Pantheon meaning "[temple] of every god") is a former Roman temple, now a church, in Rome, Italy.
The Pantheon is the best preserved building from ancient Rome and was completed in c. 125 CE in the reign of Hadrian.

The most fascinating part of the Pantheon is its giant dome, with its famous hole in the top (The eye of the Pantheon, or oculus). The dome was the largest in the world for 1300 years and until today it remains the largest unsupported dome in the world! The diameter of the dome is 43.30 meters or 142ft

3.    Vatican Museums

The Vatican Museums (Italian: Musei Vaticani) are the museums of the Vatican City and are located within the city's boundaries. They display works from the immense collection built up by the Popes throughout the centuries including some of the most renowned classical sculptures and most important masterpieces of Renaissance art in the world.

There are 54 galleries, or sale, in total, with the Sistine Chapel, notably, being the very last sala/room within the Museum. It is one of the largest museums in the world.

4. Piazza Navona

Piazza Navona is a piazza in RomeItaly. It is built on the site of the Stadium of Domitian, built in 1st century AD, and follows the form of the open space of the stadium. The ancient Romans went there to watch the agones ("games"), and hence it was known as "Circus Agonalis" ("competition arena"). It is believed that over time the name changed to in avone to navone and eventually to navona.

It was mainly used for festivals and sporting events. The buildings surrounding the square stand where the spectators once sat. Today, the square features no less than three magnificent fountains and is an immensely popular place to sip a cappuccino, shop, and watch street performers.

There are many places in Rome that i want to visit. What i wrote above are just an example to give you some description how beautiful the Rome is.

I said that i love cheese, right? That's why i chose this city. Rome is also known for its pizza. The Pizza is a flatbread generally topped with tomato sauce and cheese and baked in an oven. It is commonly topped with a selection of meats, vegetables and condiments. Nowadays, pizza is one of the most popular food in the world!

The restaurants or bakeries that sell pizza and other breads in Rome are :

  • Forno de Campo de' Fiori
  • Suppli Pizzeria Blb
  • Forno Feliziani
  • Bonci Pizzarium
  • Pizzeria Loffredo
  • etc.

Do you drool? Well, i am. I can't imagine how delicous those pizzas are. Escpecially for its mozzarella. But, i think that it's quite expensive and i have to save my money for that.

That's all from me for this time. I hope that one day i can make this happen and i'll write my experience during in Italy one day in this blog :D
See you in some other times, folks!

This is my dream place, what's yours?

WILDLIFE!

SUGAR GLIDER

" Saving one animal won't change the world, but it will change the world for that one animal."
-Vicki Davis-

What is Sugar Glider ?
The sugar glider ( Petaurus breviceps) is a small, omnivorous, and a nocturnal gliding animal. They are able to glide trough the air, much like a flying squirrel.

Where Do Sugar Gliders Live In The Wild?
-sugar glider natural range-
Sugar gliders are found in the forests of Australia and New Guinea. In fact, they’re the only species endemic to both countries.
(‘Endemic’ means they are only found in a particular region.)
Sugar gliders are found all along the eastern side of Australia, from Tasmania up to northern Queensland, also in parts of the Northern Territory, several islands, and throughout New Guinea.
What are they like?
  • The sugar glider looks like a small squirrel. It has short grey fur, not unlike that of a koala. Its soft underside fur is a creamy-white.
  • The sugar glider has black rings around its big, black eyes, and a black stripe running down the centre of its face and ending just above its nose.
  • This black stripe continues down the back of the sugar glider and ends before its wide, rather bushy grey tail.
  • The sugar glider has 5 digits on each foot. Its hind feet each have an opposable toe, allowing the sugar glider to grip onto branches.
  • The sugar glider’s tail is long and flat and helps the animal to balance and steer while it is gliding. The tail is also partially prehensile (able to grip) and is used to carry leaves into its nest.

How do they behave?
i believe i can fly~~

The animal launches itself from a tree, spreading its limbs to expose the gliding membranes. This creates an aerofoil enabling them to glide 50 metres or more. Gliding provides minimal contact with ground predators. Glinding may also allow sugar gliders to decrease their energy consumption when searching for food.
Like all arboreal, nocturnal marsupials, sugar gliders are active at night, and shelter in tree hollows lined with leafy twigs during the day.

What do they eat?

Gumtrees provide and ideal habitat for sugar gliders

Sugar gliders are omnivores, which means that their diet consists of plants and animals. They have a varied diet, which changes according to the season.
Known (and named) for their liking of sweet foods, sugar gliders eat gum, sap and nectar from trees and plants. In the summer, insects form the main part of their diet.
Sugar gliders are opportunistic feeders, and will also eat lizards and small birds. Their predation of the endangered swift parrot’s nestlings is a threat to the bird’s survival.

How do they re-product?

Sugar gliders breed throughout the year. The gestation period is between 2 and 3 weeks, and they have litters of 1 to 3 young.
At birth, the ‘joeys’ (baby sugar gliders) are extremely undeveloped. The tiny, hairless joeys crawl through the mother’s fur and into her forward-opening pouch. Here they will stay, feeding on the mother’s milk, for another 2 months.
Male sugar gliders help to look after their young, who will leave the nest around 110 days after being born.
Do sugar gliders have any predators?
The nocturnal sugar glider is a natural prey item for owls. Other animals which have been known to take sugar gliders are monitor lizards, quolls, and several bird and snake speciesFeral cats will also prey on sugar gliders.
Sugar Gliders As Pets
Due to its endearing looks, the sugar glider is sought-after as a pet. They are popular in the USA, and are permitted in all states other than California, Hawaii and Alaska. In Australia, they can only be kept as pets in in Victoria, South Australia, and the Northern Territory
Are Sugar Gliders Endangered?
Sugar gliders are not endangered, and are ranked by the IUCN as being of ‘Least Concern’.
Colonies
  • Sugar gliders are usually social animals, living in small colonies or family groups, which can number up to seven adults and their young.
  • The group’s territory can cover up to 2.5 acres, and is scent marked by the dominant males of the group, of which there are usually two.
  • Sugar gliders use a wide range of squeaks, hisses and barks – as well as scent markings – to communicate with each other
